Eco Vita in Cross Stitch

Eco Vita is the matte, woolly alternative to floss: a single strand of organic wool gives a lofty, warm texture on 11–14 ct Aida, favoured for Scandinavian red-and-white designs, country motifs and natural-toned modern cross stitch. Use by Fabric Count

One strand gives full coverage on 11 ct and a dense, full texture on 14 ct; for 16 ct and finer it is too thin, so use DMC floss there. Stitch with a size 22 blunt needle, cut 35 cm lengths and keep the wool untwisted. One 16 m skein covers about 8×8 cm on 14 ct. Charts are keyed to floss codes, so pick the nearest natural tone; the 60-colour palette is smaller than floss, so plan backgrounds accordingly.
