Beading Needles

A beading needle is thin enough to pass 11/0 and 15/0 bead holes, long enough to pick up several beads at once and flexible; it serves bead embroidery, sequins, beads on cross stitch and jewellery. This category carries Milward 213 2101 beading needles No 10–13 and DMC 1764 beading needles in packs of 6, No 10–12. All beading needles are in Beading Needles; other embroidery needles in Embroidery Needles.

Size and Use

No 10 is the thickest, No 13 the finest: No 10–11 for 8/0 and 11/0 beads, No 12–13 for 15/0 beads and delicas. Sew beads with 1 strand of floss or fine beading thread; the needle is flexible, so do not force it and keep using it if it bends. On cross stitch, beads sit over a half cross in one direction; in embroidery they form flower centres, teardrops and trims, singly or in rows.
