Scissors for Cross Stitch

Cross stitch needs a small pointed or curved-tip scissor to trim thread ends flush on the back of the Aida and to unpick a wrong cross, plus tailor's shears to cut Aida and towels. This category carries Singer curved-tip coloured embroidery scissors, small pointed scissors, Taksun clear-handle 20 cm scissors and Taksun 21.5 cm tailor's shears. All scissors are in Scissors; other aids in Cross Stitch Tools.

Which Scissor for What?

Curved tips cut thread parallel to the fabric without piercing the Aida; pointed tips are for unpicking and tight spots; the 20 cm plastic-handle scissor cuts felt, plastic canvas and paper charts; tailor's shears cut Aida, towels and prayer rug panels. Leave a 5 cm margin when cutting Aida and tape the edges. Store scissors sheathed and dry.

Scissors or seam ripper for unpicking?

Curved scissors for a single cross; a seam ripper for whole rows.
