Wooden Hoops for Embroidery

In modern embroidery the wooden hoop is the frame of the work: beech rings hold the fabric gently and the finished panel is backed with felt and hung in the same hoop. Finishing a Hoop Panel

Centre the finished embroidery, tighten the outer ring, leave 3 cm of fabric at the back, gather it and cover with felt; paint the wood or wrap it in ribbon if you like. Designs for hoop panels are in Embroidery Books.
