How to Knit with Velvet Yarn

Stitches are hard to see in chenille, so a stitch marker and flat light are essential; use a 3.5–4 mm hook, or 5–6 mm needles for blankets. Working tightly keeps the filling hidden and stops the yarn worming; unravelled chenille fuzzes, so aim to knit right the first time. A 15 cm amigurumi needs 2 balls, a baby blanket 12–16 balls of 25 g chenille.
