Modern Embroidery Patterns

An embroidery pattern is the printed design to transfer and stitch, with its colour list and stitch guide; it is not a kit, so you choose thread and fabric separately. This category carries Calin patterns designed by Berrin Şengöz: the Long Stitch series worked in long satin stitch, the Fairy-Tale Houses series and modern hoop art motifs, all keyed to DMC colour codes. Kits are in Embroidery Kits; all patterns in Embroidery Patterns.

How to Transfer a Pattern

Transfer with carbon paper, with a fabric pen on a light box, or by drawing on water-soluble stabilizer; self-adhesive soluble stabilizer is the easiest. Stretch dense calico or linen in a 15–20 cm hoop and pick floss from Embroidery Threads by the colour list. Long Stitch designs go fast in long satin stitch and suit beginners; the Fairy-Tale Houses series needs a few basics such as stem stitch and French knots.
