Embroiderable Gabardine Bags

An embroiderable cloth bag is a ready-sewn pouch in dense gabardine; embroidered, or cross stitched with water-soluble canvas, it becomes a personalised gift, make-up pouch or craft bag. How to Stitch a Bag

For cross stitch, baste water-soluble canvas onto the bag, stitch with 2–3 strands and a size 24 needle and dissolve the canvas in lukewarm water. For embroidery, transfer the design with EasyStitch or water-soluble stabilizer and work stem and satin stitch. Slip card inside so stitches do not catch the back. The 15×13 cm bag takes a name and a mini motif, the 25×18 cm a bouquet and lettering. Wash at 30 °C.

Can I use a hoop?

Hard on small bags; support with card and stitch in hand, or use a 10 cm hoop on the large one.
