DMC Floche in Cross Stitch and Hardanger

Floche is the thread for anyone who wants a matt, velvety surface in counted work: untwisted, soft, single-strand 100% cotton, 10 g ball. It gives a smooth line in hardanger fills and needle weaving, a clean geometric line in blackwork and a matt cover on 16–18 ct aida; used together with pearl cotton in traditional white-ecru work. Count, Needle and Stitching

Single strand on 16–18 ct aida and 32 ct linen, two threads together on 14 ct; in hardanger on 22–25 ct fabric the fills are worked in Floche, the satin blocks in pearl cotton No 5 or 8. Blunt size 24–26 needle, 40 cm lengths; hold the thread loosely without twisting and lay the stitches flat. A 10 g ball is enough for a napkin edge or a small blackwork motif. Washes up to 60°C, iron from the back.
