Plastic Hoops for Tapestry

Tapestry canvas is stiff and thick; a round screw hoop bends and marks it. That is why square Calin clip plastic frames (20×20, 20×28 cm) are the first choice for needlepoint: the canvas is clipped to the tubes and the worked section slides along. For small printed tapestries and softer canvas, Hello screw plastic hoops come in 18–30 cm and oval sizes. Using a Hoop in Tapestry

Leave a 5 cm margin when mounting the canvas; on large tapestries a scroll frame or stand is more comfortable. Keep stitched areas out from under the clips, or slip thin felt between.
