Sock Yarns
Sock yarn is a fine wool-polyamide blend made to resist friction and washing: heels and toes do not wear through and it goes in the machine. This category carries Gazzal Happy Feet 100 g sock yarn in self-patterning and solid colours; self-patterning yarn gives stripe and jacquard effects as you knit. The same yarn serves booties, gloves and fine shawls. All yarns are in Sock Yarn.
How to Knit Socks
Socks are knitted in the round on 2.5–3 mm double-pointed needles (sets of 4–5) or a short circular, with short rows for the heel and decreases for the toe. 100 g of Happy Feet makes a pair of adult socks; baby socks take 30–40 g. Measure gauge on a swatch, and knit firmly for long-lasting socks. Wash at 30 °C on the wool cycle and dry flat.
