Towels for Cross Stitch

The towel border is the classic cross stitch project: towels with a band of roughly 14 ct Aida woven into the hem are stitched directly. This category carries 30×50 cm hand towels and 50×90 cm bath towels in beige, white, grey and colours; every size is collected in Towels. Stitching a Border, Building a Set

Start the motif at the centre of the band and work outwards with 2–3 strands of DMC floss and a size 24 blunt needle; add a name and date from an alphabet chart. Stitch the same design on beige, white and grey towels for a trousseau set, pairing 30×50 guest towels with 50×90 bath towels. Wash at 30 °C and press the band from the back.

Do I need a hoop?

No; a narrow band is stitched in hand, or with a magnetic hoop if you prefer.
