Adhesives for Embroidery

Closing the back of a hoop with felt, fixing an appliqué motif and locking punch loops call for textile glues that dry flexible and clear. Which Glue for What?

Hoop back: fold the fabric margin inside with a thin line of glue and stick the felt cover with felt glue. Appliqué: fix the felt or fabric motif with appliqué glue and stitch the edge; the glue does not gum the needle. Punch: spread a thin layer of punch glue on the back and the loops never pull out. Let dry 24 hours, after which it withstands a 30 °C wash. Hot glue stiffens fabric and is not recommended.
