Hoop Types for Tapestry

Tapestry canvas is thick and heavy, so a round hoop marks it and does not hold; needlepoint is stretched in a rectangular clip frame or a scroll frame. Mounting Canvas in a Clip Frame

Overlock the edges, wrap the top and bottom around the bars and fix with clips; take up side tension with cord or clips. If the frame is smaller than the canvas, roll the fabric onto the bar and work section by section; extension bars lengthen the rods. Keep the printed design square and evenly taut. When finished, remove, press from the back and stretch onto a frame.
