Why Punch Needle Needs a Special Frame

Every punch stitch pushes the fabric; on an ordinary hoop it slackens and the loops pull out. A punch frame locks the cloth as tight as a drum. Which Size and Type?

Choose 28×28 or 35×35 cm clip frames for cushions and wall panels, 20×20 cm for small ornaments and keyrings. The clip frame wraps the cloth around bars, leaves no ring mark and grows with extension bars; gripper hoops are the quickest for changing fabric. Cut fabric 8–10 cm larger than the design on every side and re-tighten as you go.

Can I punch on a normal embroidery hoop?

Only for small pieces on dense fabric; monk's cloth and larger designs need a locking frame.
