What Is DMC Tapestry Wool?

DMC Tapestry Wool is a 100% wool thread used as a single strand on printed tapestries and heavy canvas; it comes in 8 m skeins and its matte, full body covers the printed canvas completely for the classic needlepoint look. The wide DMC wool colour card here matches the codes on tapestry colour keys. All wool is in DMC Wool Skeins.

Where and How to Use It

Stitch printed tapestries by SEG, Margot and similar brands, and canvas under 10 ct, with a size 18–20 blunt needle and a single strand. Cut lengths no longer than 40–45 cm; long wool frays and thins. One skein covers roughly 20–25 cm² of full stitching; buy background colours with a reserve from one dye lot. On fine Aida use floss instead.

Are Anchor wool codes the same as DMC?

No; match them with a conversion chart.
