Sewing Scissors
Sewing needs heavy, long-bladed tailor's shears to cut fabric cleanly without shifting, and small pointed scissors for thread ends and unpicking. This category carries Taksun 21.5 cm plastic-handle tailor's shears, Taksun clear-handle 20 cm fabric scissors, Singer coloured scissors and pointed thread snips. All scissors are in Scissors; seam rippers, tape measures and chalk in Other Tools.
Which Scissor for What?
Tailor's shears cut cotton, linen, denim and lining with the lower blade flat on the table so the fabric never lifts; the 20 cm scissor handles felt, stabilizer and pattern paper; small pointed snips take care of thread ends, buttonholes and unpicking. Keep fabric scissors for fabric only, since paper dulls the blade; shears can be sharpened, and all should be stored sheathed and dry.
