Pins for Cross Stitch
In cross stitch, pins square the Aida in a hoop or frame, hold the finished piece on a foam board while it is blocked damp and fix the fabric when framing. This category carries Milward steel pins 25 g (fine, rust-free, mark-free) and white-head pins in a box of 200. All pins are in Pins; needles in Aida Needles; pincushions and holders in Needle Accessories.
Blocking and Framing
Wash the finished piece in cold water, towel-dry, pin it damp to a foam board every 2 cm along the edges and let it dry flat: the crosses straighten and the fabric squares up. Stainless pins leave no stain on damp fabric. For framing, pin the Aida to the backing board before stapling or taping. White heads are easy to see when fixing templates; remove before ironing.
How many pins for blocking?
About 50–60 for a 30×30 cm piece.
