What Each Tool Does

On 16–18 ct Aida, 28–32 ct evenweave and symbol-dense charts, a 2–3× magnifier rests the eyes and cuts miscounts; LED light shows the holes in evening work. The clip-on magnifier mounts on a stand or scroll frame and its lens doubles as a hand magnifier for charts. Battery LED models need no cable and work with glasses.

Does a magnifier harm the eyes?
