Wooden Embroidery Hoops
A wooden hoop is the classic hoop where an inner and outer beechwood ring are tightened with a brass screw; it leaves no marks on the fabric and, with its natural look, doubles as the frame of the finished piece. This page gathers all the wooden hoops at Hobianna: Nurge wooden hoops in various diameters, the Şirin Kasnak 30×30 cm square hoop 24 mm thick and the Nurge wooden quilting hoop (for large patchwork and quilting work). Hobianna's own Miniature Hoop and Magnetic Hoop are on separate pages; plastic options in Plastic Hoop, all under Hoops.
Wooden or Plastic?
A wooden hoop suits embroidery, satin stitch and cross stitch for comfortable work and elegant display; a plastic hoop is safer for punch needle and other work that needs constant tension. To display in a wooden hoop, gather the fabric at the back and close with felt; a square hoop is the alternative to a round one for modern embroidery panels.
