Anchor: Coats Quality Embroidery Thread

Anchor is the embroidery thread brand of the Coats group and, alongside DMC, the world's most widely used floss system. Anchor or DMC?

Both brands are equal in colourfastness and sheen; the difference is the colour palette. If your chart is written in Anchor codes, buying Anchor directly avoids conversion-table colour shifts. Anchor has a slightly softer twist that gives a fuller stitch. Use two strands on 14 count, three on 11 count. Conversion tables are printed on most charts; check the nearest shade against the colour card when in doubt.
