Zweigart has been woven in Germany since 1877 and is the fabric in most needlework kits worldwide. Which Zweigart Fabric for Which Project?

Aida's blocked weave is the standard for beginners and kits; 18 count Fein Aida suits detailed pictures, Rustico and Vintage give a natural look. Lugana and Murano evenweave, worked over two threads, give 12.5 and 16 count effects and a smooth ground for modern embroidery. Linens are the finest, most prestigious choice for samplers, monograms and reproductions. Monks Cloth is for punch and tufting needles. Look for the orange Zweigart selvedge to identify genuine fabric.
