Fabric Aida

Fabric aida is cotton woven for cross stitch with countable holes; the count gives the number of stitches per inch. This page gathers all the fabric aida at Hobianna: DMC aida (ecru, white and colours, 110 cm wide), Hello aida 14 ct 150 cm wide, Pakteks heavy 11 ct aida 150 cm wide. Which Count?

11 ct is for large stitches and children's work, 14 ct for standard cross stitch (2 strands), 16–18 ct for fine detailed pictures (1–2 strands). On 14 ct a 100-stitch motif is about 18 cm; cut the fabric 8–10 cm larger for the hoop allowance. Pinking the aida edge stops fraying.
