What Can Be Made with Felt?

The felt books category covers two main techniques: felt projects cut and hand-sewn (Sew Felt Cuties for cute animals, 101 Beautiful Felt Flowers, The Wild Wood and Hedgerow for nature-themed ornaments, kitchen projects such as Making Marmalade) and needle felting, where wool is shaped with a barbed needle (Cute Birds to Make with Needle Felting). Books come with full-size templates and step-by-step photos. All books are in Magazines and Books.

Felt Sewing or Needle Felting?

Felt sewing suits anyone who can hold a needle: transfer the template, whip stitch the pieces and stuff, even with children. Needle felting needs a barbed needle and wool roving; ideal for three-dimensional figures and birds, it needs no sewing skill but some patience. The two combine, adding felted details to a sewn body.

Materials for the projects

Felt sheets are in Felt, filling in Fiberfill, threads in Sewing Threads; to start with pre-cut pieces, see the Hello Felt Pals kits in Felt Kits.
