Embroiderable Tablecloths and Runners

An embroiderable tablecloth is a ready-hemmed cloth in countable or densely woven fabric; a cross stitch border or embroidery turns it into a trousseau cloth. Which Cloth for Which Work?

The Zweigart cloth is cross stitched directly by counting (about 11–14 ct); the linen cloth and runner are densely woven for surface embroidery, stem and satin stitch, or cross stitched with water-soluble canvas. Work border motifs symmetrically from a corner with 2–3 strands and a size 22–24 needle. Wash at 40 °C and press damp from the back.
