Evenweave Fabric Types

Evenweave is woven from single threads at an even count; cross stitch is worked over 2 threads and embroidery freely. This page gathers every evenweave at Hobianna: Zweigart Belfast 32 ct linen, Brittney Lugana 28 ct, Linda 27 ct, DMC 28 ct evenweave and Hobianna Nazende 27 ct hand-dyed batik fabrics in white, ecru and colours, 140–160 cm wide. Which Count, Which Work?

Over 2 threads, 27–28 ct equals 14 ct Aida and 32 ct equals 16 ct; over 1 thread the work is very fine. Choose 28 ct for cross stitch and blackwork, 32 ct Belfast for fine, elegant pieces and Nazende batik for a coloured ground. The edges fray, so overlock before stitching, and a clip frame or scroll frame gives even tension.
