Stabilizer Types
This page gathers every stabilizer at Hobianna: self-adhesive water-soluble stabilizer (A4 sheets; print or draw the design, stick to the fabric, stitch over it, dissolve in lukewarm water) and Hobianna's own EasyStitch pre-printed soluble embroidery patches. Soluble stabilizer is the most practical way to transfer designs in embroidery and to hold appliqué and patchwork pieces in sewing, and the only solution on felt, knits and dark fabric. Branch guides are in Embroidery Stabilizer and Sewing Stabilizer; fabrics in Fabrics and Aida.
How to Use It
Print the sheet on an inkjet as A4 or draw on it; peel the backing, stick it to the fabric, hoop it and work stem stitch, satin stitch, cross stitch or machine stitching straight over it. Soak the finished piece 5–10 minutes in lukewarm water; sheet and adhesive dissolve fully, then dry and press from the back. It does not gum the needle and works for punch needle too. One A4 sheet yields 4–6 hoop designs.
